Effective immediately, I am no longer a part of Immortal Disfigurement.
I am stepping down as the chief songwriter of the band and will not be releasing the album through them. The remaining six songs will be available to listen to instrumentally on my YouTube channel and will also be available on streaming services very soon. This decision has been a difficult one, but I can no longer go on fully writing the songs for the band after being commissioned to work with them as a business transaction, receiving no compensation for my work whatsoever, not being included in band decisions that are being made for songs I’ve written and dealing with the unprofessional way producers have been treated throughout this album process and for previous singles.
The album has instrumentally been ready for several months, along with the full album production being finished during Force Fed’s release. The responsibility for the release has been lumped across everyone else, with a release date being set without other elements of the album being finished. The professionals in this situation have remained professional throughout but decisions made by an individual have stopped the album from being released in time and it isn’t fair for these actions to ruin the reputation of others.
I would like to thank everyone that has supported me throughout my association with the band and I’m truly grateful for every bit of encouragement I’ve received and hope to move on and continue to write music professionally. I am deeply sorry that people will not get to hear this album the way it was intended, it has been heartbreaking to receive messages off people excited for the release, but I hope that you will understand my position on this.
De band zelf kwam eerder al met een eigen statement:
We hate having to post this equally as much as all of you will dislike reading it, but we unfortunately will have to postpone the album release date a bit further back. This is practically everyone’s first time trying to release an album 100% independent with zero help from a label and ended up being more complex than we were prepared for. We assure everyone that the album is finished, but it needs more time for proper mixing/ mastering. We all collectively agreed it was for the best to extend the release date rather than putting out a product we weren’t fully stoked on. We figured If we weren’t fully happy with the album, neither would all of you. Please stay a bit more patient with us and we will have a new release date ASAP. It won’t be much longer, we promise. Thank you for reading, we love you all
