De Amerikaanse deathcore band Whitechapel heeft een nieuwe single uitgebracht genaamd “A Visceral Retch”. Het nummer dient als opwarmer voor het negende studio album waar de band sinds zomer vorig jaar aan werkt.
Vocalist Phil Bozeman zegt het volgende over de ontstaanswijze van de single door invloed van gitarist Zach Householder:
Zach is notorious for very dark and horror-like vibes so this album is right in his wheelhouse. The song is disturbing. Imagine being put in a situation of survival by gluttonous, mammoth demons that give you a choice. Eat the demons’ waste, eat each other, or starve to death.”
Het nummer is de eerste die de band uitbrengt met nieuwe drummer Brandon Zackey (voorheen Enterprise Earth). De videoclip voor het nummer bekijk je hieronder.
