De Nederlandse metal band For I Am King heeft bekendgemaakt dat ze ermee gaan stoppen. De band die in 2014 is opgericht geeft aan dat dit een mooi moment is om te stoppen: met liefde, op hun eigen voorwaarden en met niets dan dankbaarheid in hun hart.

After more than a decade of riffs, breakdowns, shreds, and passion, we’re officially closing the chapter: 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟰–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱) 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱.
What started as a wild idea between friends — an idea that got completely out of hand — turned into something we could never have imagined. Over the years, we’ve played hundreds of shows, traveled the world, released music we’re endlessly proud of, and most importantly: we’ve met so many incredible people and built lifelong friendships.
This band has been about more than just music. It’s been about connection, togetherness, love, and a shared passion. We’ve shared vans, stages, tears, beers, and dreams. And even though our paths are now moving in different directions, the bond we’ve built will always remain.
As we look back, we’re reminded of one thing that’s always stayed true: metal is cheaper than therapy — and in so many ways, this band has been exactly that for us.
It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it feels like the right time to let go — with love, on our own terms, and with nothing but gratitude in our hearts.
But… we’re not leaving quietly.
We’re planning a series of farewell shows, and you better believe we’re going out with a bang. Details will follow soon and we might just have one last little surprise for you, too.
