De Zweedse viking / melodic death metal band Amon Amarth heeft een video uitgebracht voor de track “Heidrun” en een remix online gezet voor de track waarop de “zang” van echte geiten te horen is. De track is origineel afkomstig van het album “The Great Heathen Army”, maar de remix zal te vinden zijn op een nieuw uitgebrachte EP. Op die EP zijn ook live versies van “Heidrun” tijdens Graspop Metal Meeting en een “Put Your Back Into The Oar” tijdens Hellfest te vinden.
Frontman Johan Hegg zegt er het volgende over:
Heidrun is an interesting mythological character, it’s a goat that stands on the roof of Valhalla eating the leaf of the big tree Lärad. The milk that she gives is the honey/mead that the warriors in Valhalla drink each night. The lyrics themselves are both about Vikings traveling the world but also metaphorically what it is to be a touring musician.
