De Nederlandse blackened deathcore band XII Thorns heeft een lyric video uitgebracht voor hun nieuwe single “De Kelderbode”.
De band zegt het volgende over het nummer:
“De Kelderbode,” our latest deathcore track, draws inspiration from a church newspaper
that underwent a chilling transformation in our creative narrative. Originally a self-made publication for the church community, the song explores a sinister reinterpretation of the once-pious “Kelderbode.” Thus, the story surrounding a devilish church society emerged, which is recounted in XII Thorns’ new single. In “De Kelderbode” a satanic prayer is screamed in Old Dutch: “moge de vlammen van hel, en de schaduwen der nacht, mij begeleiden op mijn pad, als een duister slacht”. Translated to “May the flames of hell, and the shades of night, guide me
on my way like a dark sacrfice”. Adding an eerie depth to the narrative.
